Suspect Arrested at Phuket Checkpoint For Smuggling Nearly 4,000 Meth Pills

Police at Tha Chatchai checkpoint arrested a suspect in the early hours of Sunday morning, seizing nearly 4,000 methamphetamine tablets.

The Tha Chatchai Police told the Phuket Express that the operation was conducted on Tuesday in the early morning (March 31st) at 2:30 a.m.. A suspected SUV was stopped at the checkpoint. Police searched the SUV in which officers confiscated:

  • 3,981 methamphetamine pills
  • One Toyota C-HR sedan
  • One iPhone mobile phone

The suspect was informed of the charges and legal rights before being taken into custody. Both the individual and the seized evidence were handed over to investigators at Tha Chatchai Police Station for further legal proceedings. The name of the suspect was not released by relevant officials.
