Phuket—
Chalong Police Station has reaffirmed its commitment to public safety by arresting two suspects responsible for a string of thefts that had plagued local residents. The operation shows the police’s determination to ensure that criminals have no place in society.

The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express that following multiple complaints from victims, investigators learned that a motorcycle with a sidecar was being used to roam neighborhoods and steal property. The stolen items included electrical cables and fuel, causing significant distress to the community.

Through careful investigation and CCTV evidence, police identified the suspects as a 24-year-old man known as Lek and a 42-year-old man known as Mai (surnames withheld). Officers submitted the evidence to the Phuket Provincial Court, which issued arrest warrants for three separate cases.

On March 28, Chalong Police’s investigative team successfully apprehended both suspects. During questioning, they confessed to the crimes and admitted selling the stolen goods. Officers charged them under the offense of “joint theft at night by disguising themselves or concealing their identity, using a vehicle to facilitate the crime or to escape capture.”

The suspects were handed over to investigators for prosecution, while the motorcycle used in the crimes was seized as evidence.
