Phuket Unleashes Energy at “Patong Beach Run 2026”

Phuket –

More than a thousand runners gathered at dawn on Patong Beach for the “Patong Beach Run 2026,” a great sporting event that combined fitness, tourism, and community spirit.

The race was officially opened at 5:10 a.m. by Phuket Governor Nirut Pongsitthithavorn, with Patong Mayor Lalita Maneesri delivering the welcome address. Local leaders from Phuket City, Srisunthorn, and Rawai municipalities joined alongside representatives from government agencies, private organizations, and enthusiastic runners.

Mayor Lalita said that the event was designed not only to encourage healthy lifestyles but also to showcase Phuket’s natural beauty and strengthen its tourism appeal. Organized under the theme “Run Together: 3 Races, 3 Districts”, the series offers two categories: a 5-kilometer fun run and a 10-kilometer mini-marathon.

Participants enjoyed scenic routes along Patong Beach and Tri Trang Hill, experiencing the island’s iconic coastal landscape in the cool morning light. This year’s turnout of approximately 1,000 runners shows strong community support, with local agencies and businesses contributing to the event’s success.

Governor Nirut noted that the Patong Beach Run is a key driver of sports tourism, helping to create a lively atmosphere for visitors while boosting the local economy.

The race is part of a larger initiative, the “Run Together Series: 3 Races, 3 Districts.” Runners who complete all three events will receive a unique set of jigsaw-shaped medals that fit together to form a single image, symbolizing the unity and distinct character of each district.

With its blend of health, tourism, and cultural identity, the Patong Beach Run 2026 has once again proven to be a major event on Phuket’s calendar, leaving lasting memories for participants and reinforcing the island’s reputation as a premier destination for sports and leisure.
