Nigerian Man Arrested for Illegal Entry at Bang Tao Beach

Phuket –

Police in Cherng Talay have arrested a 30-year-old Nigerian man following an intelligence-led operation targeting suspected drug activity in Phuket’s Bang Tao Beach area.

The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express that on Friday (March 13th) authorities received a tip-off from informants alleging that a foreign national was attempting to sell narcotics to tourists at a local entertainment venue. Officers devised a plan to intercept the suspect, deploying two teams to secure the area.

During the operation, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly surrounded and apprehended after a brief struggle. He was later identified as Obi Somadina Emmanuel, aged 30.

Police have charged him with illegal entry and residence in the Kingdom without authorization. The arrest forms part of an ongoing campaign to crack down on foreign nationals committing offenses in tourist destinations.
