Cherng Talay Police reported an incident on March 14th, 2026, after video clips circulated widely on social media showing a foreign man climbing onto a taxi along the Cherng Talay–Ban Don Road.
Police told the Phuket Express that they responded to a call from the Phuket 191 emergency center regarding a foreign national allegedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the Pasak Soi 1 area.
Upon arrival, officers found a 25-year-old Irish man in a state of intoxication, with visible abrasions on his body. Rescue personnel were called to provide first aid. Once his condition stabilized, police recorded his details and escorted him back to his accommodation.
