Phuket –

A tragic accident occurred in Phuket on Tuesday morning when a truck transporting a prefabricated house struck the edge of a pedestrian overpass, killing two Myanmar workers instantly.

The Tha Chatchai Police told the Phuket Express that at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday (March 11th), they received a report of the collision near Hong Yok Bamrung School on the main Thepkrasattri Road in Mai Khao, Thalang . Officers, along with medical personnel from Vachira Phuket Hospital, rushed to the scene.

Authorities found a white 18-wheel Hino truck, loaded with a prefabricated house. Two men had died in the accident. One victim was discovered lifeless on the roof of the house structure, suffering severe head injuries after striking the overpass. The second victim was found on the road below, having fallen from the truck, with multiple traumatic injuries.

The driver, identified only as Mr. Sitthisak, told police he had transported the house from Chonburi to Phuket City. He believed the truck’s height would clear the pedestrian bridge, but miscalculated. The impact caused the workers, who were riding atop the structure, to be fatally injured.

The deceased were identified as Mr. Hein Kyaw, 34, and Mr. Than Htike Aung, 23, both Myanmar nationals. Police have coordinated with forensic doctors to conduct autopsies and are continuing their investigation. Legal proceedings will follow in accordance with Thai law.
