Police Nab Motorcyclist with Meth Pills at Checkpoint near Underpass

Phuket –

A routine traffic checkpoint in Wichit led to the arrest of a young man found in possession of methamphetamine pills.

The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that at 10:50 a.m. over the past weekend, they set up a road discipline checkpoint at the entrance of the Dara Samut underpass, in front of Wichit Songkram School on Chao Fa West Road.

During the operation, officers stopped a suspicious motorcyclist later identified only as Mr. Thani, 25, from Suphan Buri Province. A search revealed a small plastic bag containing 10 methamphetamine tablets concealed on his person.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody and handed over to investigators at Wichit Police Station. He faces charges of possessing a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) without authorization.
