Ex-Convict Arrested in Phuket for Motorcycle Theft

Wichit police have arrested a 29-year-old man from Narathiwat who had recently been released from prison, after he allegedly stole a motorcycle left with its key in the ignition and attempted to resell it.

The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that on March 9th, 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Suthon Thongphan, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation at Wichit Police Station, reported the arrest of Mr. Thanakorn, following an investigation ordered by Pol. Col. Somsak Thongkliang, Superintendent of Wichit Police Station.

The case began on February 25, when a victim parked a motorcycle at a construction site behind Makro in Wichit Subdistrict, leaving the key in place. Upon returning, the vehicle was missing. The victim filed a complaint with Wichit Police.
