Phuket –
An accident claimed the life of a police officer who had just arrived in Phuket when he lost control of his motorcycle on a curve along Chao Fah West Road in front of a well-known jewelry showroom in Wichit.
The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that the accident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Saturday (February 28th) when local residents alerted authorities to a motorcycle crash.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene alongside officers from Wichit Police Station. They found a black motorcycle, registered in Surat Thani, overturned near a roadside drainage cover, severely damaged from the impact. Nearby, Lt. Col. Kriatisak lay unconscious on the road as emergency responders attempted CPR before transporting him to Dibuk Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Initial investigations suggest that the officer’s motorcycle failed to negotiate the curve, causing it to skid and crash violently. Dashcam footage from a passing motorist confirmed that he lost control of the vehicle before overturning. Doctors determined that the fatal injuries were caused by severe head trauma sustained during the accident.
Lt. Col. Kriatisak had only recently transferred from Bo Phut Police Station in Koh Samui, Surat Thani, to Chalong Police Station in Phuket less than a month ago. His sudden death has left colleagues and fellow officers in shock and mourning, as they remember him as a capable and dedicated officer whose career was cut short unexpectedly.
