Bangladeshi Woman Arrested at Phuket Airport for Forged Documents and Cocaine Possession

Phuket –

Immigration officers at Phuket International Airport arrested a 26‑year‑old Bangladeshi woman on Tuesday afternoon after discovering she was traveling with forged official documents and cocaine hidden in her shoulder bag.

The arrest was carried out at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday (Febraury 28th). The investigative team, led by Acting Police Lieutenant Colonel Akkaraphon Kaewkiatthayoth, coordinated with the airport’s special operations unit to intercept the suspect in the international departures hall.

Authorities reported that the woman was initially detained for presenting falsified government documents. A later search of her belongings uncovered a quantity of cocaine concealed inside her shoulder bag. She was charged with “forging and using forged official documents” and “illegal possession of a Category 2 narcotic.”

The suspect was handed over to investigators at Sakhu Police Station in Phuket for further legal proceedings. Officials explained that the arrest reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen airport security and combat transnational crime, particularly drug trafficking and document fraud.
