Police Seize 20,000 Meth Pills Hidden in Delivery Service

PHUKET –

A coordinated operation has led to the seizure of 20,000 methamphetamine tablets and the arrest of a key suspect believed to be behind the trafficking network.

The Border Patrol Police told the Phuket Express that the case began on September 14th, 2025, when Border Patrol Police received intelligence that narcotics would be smuggled into Phuket via a private delivery service.

Officers monitored a suspicious parcel at the Wirat Hongyok branch in the Wichit subdistrict, Muang district. Upon inspection, conducted in the presence of branch management and staff, authorities discovered methamphetamine pills concealed inside the package. The drugs were seized and handed over to Wichit Police for further investigation.

Following months of inquiry, investigators gathered sufficient evidence linking a Mr. Pichet to the illicit shipment. Police allege that he ordered and owned the drugs, with records showing repeated connections to similar parcel deliveries. This week he was arrested and charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) with intent to sell, an offense classified as trafficking under Thai law.

Mr. Sukkaew has been remanded to Phuket Provincial Court while police continue to expand their investigation into the wider network. Authorities also said that dismantling such supply chains is critical to curbing the spread of methamphetamine among local communities.
