Phuket –
Phuket is preparing to stage its most ambitious historical performance yet, honoring the legendary heroines Thao Thep Krasattri (Ya Chan) and Thao Sri Sunthon (Ya Mook), along with nine heroic figures of Thalang. The annual light and sound extravaganza will run for four consecutive nights, March 13–16, 2026, at the Thalang Victory Monument (Ban Reang), with free admission for all.

The announcement was made at Central Phuket’s Lan Lom, where provincial leaders and cultural representatives joined forces to unveil the event. Attendees included Phuket Governor Nirun Phongsitthithavorn, Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) President Rewat Areerob, Tourism Authority of Thailand Phuket Office Director Sirivan Siharach, and members of the Thao Thep Krasattri–Thao Sri Sunthon Foundation.
Adding star power to the occasion, actresses Hana Lewis and Maggie Apa Pavilai were introduced as the lead performers portraying Ya Chan and Ya Mook.

PAO President Rewat Areerob told the Phuket Express that this year’s production will be “bigger and more spectacular than ever,” extending the schedule to four nights to ensure broader access for locals and visitors. The 2026 show, titled “Ya Chan–Ya Mook: Nine Heroes of Thalang”, will highlight not only the bravery of the two heroines but also seven additional figures: Phraya Thongphun, Phraya Thalang Tien, Mae Prang, Chao Khun Maradat Thong, Phra Yakbat Jui, Mahadlek Niam, and Nai Thongpheng. Together, their stories reflect courage, unity, and the multicultural spirit of Thalang.

This year’s performance will incorporate cutting-edge LED screen technology and a completely reimagined presentation style, designed to resonate with audiences of all ages. Beyond the stage, the event will feature cultural showcases, traditional ceremonies, and community markets offering local products from across Phuket.
Under the theme “Love the Nation, Defend the Land – The Heroines of Thalang”, the production wants to instill pride in Phuket’s historical legacy while promoting cultural tourism. By blending history, art, and community engagement, organizers hope to strengthen Phuket’s identity as a destination rich in heritage and creativity.
