PHUKET –
The Third Region Maritime Enforcement Command dispatched a patrol vessel to assist a yacht in distress near Phuket.
The Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (February 10th) the yacht had taken on water at the stern, causing it to partially sink. Three crew members were on board when the incident occurred about one nautical mile from the Wisit Panwa Pier.

Upon receiving the emergency call, the regional command ordered the Phuket Port Security Control Center to send Sornchon 4012 for immediate assistance. The patrol vessel successfully towed Cognac into shallower waters, as the yacht had originally been moored in the main channel. Meanwhile, another vessel helped transfer the crew to safety.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported. The yacht’s owner is now arranging salvage operations to recover the vessel.
