Police in Patong have arrested a 32‑year‑old Swedish national wanted on a Phuket Provincial Court warrant for rape and indecent assault.
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Wednesday (February 4th) they arrested the Swedish suspect. He was taken into custody in front of Room 401 at a hotel on Nanai 8 Road.
The man is accused of raping a victim by coercion and force while the victim was unable to resist, and of committing indecent acts against a person over the age of 15 under similar circumstances.
Following the arrest, the suspect was transferred to Patong Police Station for questioning and further legal proceedings. Authorities confirmed that the case will proceed in accordance with the court warrant and Thai criminal law. The suspect did not immediately release a plea or statement.
