Phuket Town Plans Eight-Storey Parking Building

PHUKET –
The Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO) has announced plans to construct a modern eight-storey parking building with capacity for 302 vehicles.

The PPAO told the Phuket Express. The project, designed by the PPAO Engineering Office, will be located next to the Old Prison Public Park, a popular recreational space in the heart of the city. Officials say the new facility will provide much-needed convenience for residents and visitors who frequent the park, while also helping to reduce traffic congestion in Phuket’s historic old town district.

By offering an organized parking alternative outside the narrow streets of the heritage area, the project is expected to ease overcrowding and improve accessibility for both locals and tourists.

The initiative reflects Phuket’s broader urban development strategy, balancing the demands of a growing tourism industry with the quality of life for its citizens. Once completed, the parking structure will serve as a key piece of infrastructure supporting community activities, tourism, and sustainable city planning.
