Phuket Enhances Security Measures Through Phuket Eyes System

PHUKET –

Phuket Governor Nirat Pongsitthaworn has instructed authorities to tighten security across the province by expanding the “Phuket Eyes” surveillance system to ensure comprehensive coverage and better coordination between the public and private sectors.

Under the directive, the Phuket Provincial Police are installing and upgrading closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras throughout the province to strengthen public safety and monitoring. The initiative is coordinated with the private sector and local communities to ensure island-wide signal integration and full provincial coverage.

Preparations are underway for Phuket Eyes Phase 2, which will be proposed to the incoming government. The next phase aims to upgrade the system with artificial intelligence to support analysis of facial features, physical appearance, attire, and vehicles.

The preceding is a press release from the Thai Government PR Department.
