Filipino Woman Arrested For Various Criminal Charges in Phuket After Attempting Visa Extension

Phuket –

Immigration officers in Phuket arrested a Filipino woman wanted on theft and forgery charges after she attempted to extend her visa at the provincial immigration office on Wednesday (February 4th).

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that the suspect was subject to an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court for allegedly stealing property from her employer and falsifying official documents.

Police identified the woman as she submitted her visa application. Officers verified her identity through the immigration database and an interpreter, after which the suspect admitted she was indeed the person named in the warrant.

She was immediately taken into custody and transferred to the Immigration Investigation and Suppression Division in Phuket for formal arrest procedures. The suspect was then handed over to investigators at Chalong Police Station to face prosecution under Thai law.
