Young Teen Arrested with Firearm Possession in Phuket

Phuket –

Police in Phuket have arrested a 14-year-old boy as part of a crackdown on illegal weapons.

The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they detained a minor, identified only as “Aman” (alias), aged 14. Officers seized a homemade handgun designed to fire12-gauge shotgun ammunition. The boy was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm without authorization.

Authorities explained that the operation reflects ongoing efforts to reduce the circulation of illegal weapons and strengthen public safety in Phuket. Details of his charges have not yet been released.

Local officials reiterated their commitment to enforcing firearm laws and preventing weapons-related violence, particularly among youth. The case has been forwarded for legal proceedings.
