Phuket –

Police in Chalong have swiftly resolved a theft case involving a foreign tourist who was robbed while receiving medical treatment, recovering the stolen assets within three days.

The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express that on January 26th, 2026, officers at Chalong Police Station received a report from a Russian woman who had her wallet stolen while waiting for treatment at Chalong Hospital.

The victim had placed her bag on a chair when the suspect discreetly took it. Inside were foreign currencies amounting to 2,000 Swiss francs and 1,000 euros, equivalent to approximately 120,000 baht.

The Chalong investigation team immediately launched a search and traced the suspect to a residence in Moo 7, Rawai. The suspect, identified only as Ms. Namfon, admitted to stealing the wallet and hiding the foreign cash under a water jar in her bathroom.

Police arrested the suspect and seized the stolen assets, which were returned to the victim.
