Crystal Meth Seized at Phuket Checkpoint, Suspect Arrested

Police at the Phuket checkpoint in northern Phuket arrested a 54‑year‑old man after discovering crystal methamphetamine hidden beneath the bed liner of his pickup truck. Officers also found drug‑use equipment, including a syringe.

The suspect, a resident of Phang Nga, north of Phuket island. He was charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic (crystal meth), consumption of narcotics and driving under the influence of narcotics.

During questioning, the man admitted to using crystal meth by injection. Police seized his vehicle and formally informed him of his rights and charges.

He was then transferred, along with the evidence, to investigators at Tha Chatchai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
