Saudi Arabian Man Arrested for Public Indecency in Patong, Authorities Recommend Visa Revocation

Phuket –

Authorities have moved swiftly to protect the island’s reputation after a video circulated on social media showing two male foreign tourists engaging in alleged indecent behavior in public.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the incident in question occurred in Patong in the early hours of January 4tg, 2026, around 5:00 a.m., when two male foreign tourists were allegedly seen committing lewd acts in front of bystanders. The footage has gone viral in local social media this week and sparked widespread concern, with officials stressing that such conduct damages the image of Phuket as a leading international destination.

A joint task force was formed to track down the suspect. After intensive inquiries, officers identified and arrested one foreign man who was later identified only as a 33 year old male Saudi Arabian national in the early hours of January 6th, 2026. He was charged under the Criminal Code with “committing an act of public indecency by exposing his body or engaging in obscene behavior in front of others.” However, police did not identify the other man in the video clip.

The suspect was taken to Patong Police Station for legal proceedings. Authorities also reported the case to the Immigration Bureau, recommending that his visa be revoked due to the seriousness of the offense and its negative impact on Thailand’s tourism image.
