Phuket Secures Top National New Year Seven Dangerous Days Road Record For Accidents and Injuries

Phuket has secured the highest number of road accidents and injuries nationwide during the New Year holiday period in the seven days road safety campaign (December 30th, 2025 to January 5th, 2026).

Between December 30th, 2025, and January 5th, 2026, the province reported 55 accidents, leaving 58 people injured and 5 dead, according to Phuket official figures.

Of those 58 injuries, two of them have sustained severe injuries. Forty-eight percent of the injured are local Thai residents. Authorities pointed to speeding and drunk driving as the leading risk behaviors. Motorcycles were the vehicles most frequently involved in crashes.
