Phuket –
Phuket remains recorded as the highest number of road accidents and injuries nationwide during the New Year holiday period in six days (December 30th, 2025 to January 4th, 2026).
Between December 30th, 2025, and January 4th, 2026, the province reported 50 accidents, leaving 53 people injured and 5 dead, according to official figures.
Four deaths were males from Myanmar and another one was Thai male.
Authorities pointed to speeding and drunk driving as the leading risk behaviors. Motorcycles were the vehicles most frequently involved in crashes.
