Phuket Remains Top in National Road Accidents and Injuries in Four Days of New Year Period

Phuket remains recorded as the highest number of road accidents and injuries nationwide during the New Year holiday period in four days (December 30th, 2025 to January 2nd, 2026).

Between December 30th, 2025, and January 2nd, 2026, the province reported 39 accidents, leaving 43 people injured and 4 dead, according to official figures.

All of the four deaths were males from Myanmar. Of those 43 injuries, 22 were Thais.

Authorities pointed to speeding and drunk driving as the leading risk behaviors. Motorcycles were the vehicles most frequently involved in crashes.
