Phuket –
In a midnight operation aimed at reinforcing law and order in Phuket’s busiest tourist district, Kathu officials raided and shut down two entertainment venues in Patong found to be operating illegally.
The crackdown, carried out at 00:30 hrs under the direction of Phuket Governor Nirut Pongsit Thavorn and senior provincial leaders, was led by Kathu District Chief Akkarapol Suttirak Jitsupap, Deputy District Chief Thammarong Chuayaksorn, and a team of security officers and volunteer defense members.
Authorities targeted two establishments on Rat-U-Thit 200 Year Road. The first bar was allegedly operating as an entertainment establishment without authorization and selling alcohol without a license. The operator, identified only as Mr. A (alias), was taken into custody. Meanwhile at the second bar, investigators found the bar functioning without the required permit. The operator, only identified as Ms. B (alias), was charged accordingly.

Both cases have been handed over to Patong Police Station for further legal proceedings. Officials stressed that the operation reflects Phuket’s commitment to enforcing regulations, protecting public safety, and maintaining the integrity of its tourism industry.

Governor Nirut stated that unlicensed venues undermine both community security and the province’s reputation as a global travel destination. The coordinated action highlights the province’s determination to ensure nightlife businesses comply with the law.
