Phuket Launches Integrated Safety Command Center for New Year 2026

Phuket –
Phuket Province has officially launched its Command Center for Road and Marine Accident Prevention ahead of the New Year 2026 celebrations, reinforcing its commitment to public safety during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

The opening ceremony, held at the Phuket Provincial Hall, was presided over by Governor Nirat Phongsitthithavorn. He was joined by Deputy Governors Adul Chuthong, Suwit Phansengiam, and Teerapong Chuaychu, along with Rear Admiral Praphan Srisuwipa, Deputy Director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) in Phuket. Senior officials, partner agencies, and community networks also attended the event.

The initiative is part of Thailand’s national integrated safety plan, which mandates heightened accident prevention measures during festive and holiday seasons. In Phuket, the command center will operate under the campaign “Drive Safely, Slow Down, Prevent Accidents” and enforce strict safety protocols from December 30, 2025 to January 5, 2026.

The ceremony featured the handover of support equipment from partner agencies, a press briefing, and a parade to raise public awareness about accident prevention.

Governor Nirat stated the importance of collective responsibility. “We call on all agencies to raise awareness among residents and tourists, strictly follow traffic laws, and comply with marine safety measures. By working together, we can minimize losses and ensure a safe and enjoyable New Year festival in Phuket.”
