Phuket –
Authorities in Phuket have arrested a British national on charges of possessing and selling cocaine in Patong Beach, a popular tourist destination.
Police told the Phuket Express that the arrests were carried out by a special operations unit under the Phuket Provincial Administration following complaints that narcotics were being openly sold to tourists in the area. Officials said the illegal activity posed a serious threat to Phuket’s reputation as a world-class tourism hub.

During the operation, which took place this week, officers seized two bags of cocaine weighing approximately 2.07 grams and seven bags of cocaine mixed with tramadol weighing approximately 5.84 grams.

The suspect was charged with possession of a Category 2 narcotic with intent to sell, in violation of Thai law.
