Wanted Kazakh Man Arrested in Phuket on International Fraud Warrant

Phuket –

Phuket Immigration officers have arrested a Kazakh man who had been hiding on the island after fleeing an international arrest warrant linked to a major fraud case in his home country.

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that Mr. Adilet, a Kazakh national, is accused of defrauding a victim identified as Ms. Elitzirova of a substantial amount of money. He allegedly deceived the victim by claiming he could secure state-owned land for the construction of commercial buildings, before misappropriating the funds for personal gain. The case prompted foreign authorities to issue an international arrest warrant.

Thailand’s Foreign Affairs Division later informed Phuket Immigration that the suspect was believed to be hiding in the province. An investigative team was assigned to track him down.

On December 15th, 2025 at 5:30 PM officers successfully located the suspect in Muang District, Phuket. Officers arranged a controlled meeting, during which they identified and detained him.

Immigration officials subsequently revoked his permission to stay in Thailand and coordinated with the Kazakhstan Embassy to initiate deportation procedures so he can face legal action in his home country.
