Now for the update:
The arrest follows an investigation led by Pol. Col. Chatree Chukaew, superintendent of Phuket City Police, who on November 16 dispatched a team to inspect a suspicious warehouse located at 143/96 Boat Plaza, Ratsada subdistrict. Authorities had received intelligence suggesting the facility was being used to distribute unsolicited goods under the guise of legitimate COD transactions.
According to police, the warehouse was rented by a former online vendor who allegedly shipped products to individuals who had never placed orders. The scam relied on falsified recipient lists, and investigators discovered that the operation generated nearly 100,000 baht in daily cash flow.
At 11:00 a.m. today, Pol. Col. Kitipong Klaikaew, deputy commander of Phuket Provincial Police, joined Pol. Col. Chatree in questioning the suspect, identified only as Ms. Nun (alias), at Phuket City Police Station. Ms. Nun was detained under an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court on November 18th.
She faces charges of aiding public fraud and unlawfully collecting, possessing, and disclosing personally identifiable information for use in technology-related crimes. Investigators allege that Ms. Nun sold or exchanged customer data with the warehouse operator, who then affixed the names to packages sent nationwide under COD terms—despite the recipients never consenting to the purchases.
Ms. Nun reportedly confessed to all charges during the initial interrogation. Authorities are now expanding the investigation to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the scheme.
