Phuket –
An Austrian national was arrested at Phuket International Airport for allegedly forging immigration stamps and overstaying his visa by 578 days, according to the Immigration Bureau.

The Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that the arrest took place over the past weekend at the international departure hall of the airport.

The 41-year-old Austrian man was found to be using counterfeit entry-exit stamps and had remained in the Kingdom without valid authorization. He was apprehended while attempting to depart the country and was then handed over to the Sakhu Police Station for legal proceedings.

The Australian man did not release any statement as of press time.
