Cambodian Caught Selling Illegal Vapes on Kata Beach

A Cambodian national was arrested on Kata Beach in Phuket for allegedly selling illegal electronic cigarettes to tourists.

The Karon Police told the Phuket Express that they arrested Mr. Mon, 44, Cambodian national this week. Seized from him were 32 pieces of electronic cigarettes and accessories, hidden in a shoulder bag and under a motorcycle seat

He was taken to the Karon Police Station to face charge of violation of

  1. Customs Law: Possession and sale of prohibited imported goods, specifically electronic cigarettes and hookahs, in breach of the 2017 Customs Act and Ministry of Commerce regulations.

2. Consumer Protection Violation: Selling and providing services related to e-cigarettes, which are banned products under the Consumer Protection Board’s directives.

3. Illegal Employment: Working without a permit and engaging in unauthorized employment, in violation of the 2017 Royal Decree on the Management of Foreign Workers.
