UPDATE: Suspect Confesses to Murdering Tour Guide for Gold Necklace, Later Sold at Phuket Shopping Mall

Phuket-

Police in Phuket have conducted a crime reenactment following the arrest of a 43-year-old man accused of murdering a female tour guide during a robbery inside a vehicle.

Our previous stories:

The search for a missing Andaman tour guide ended in tragedy this evening when police discovered the body of Ms. Orathai Auyapong, a prominent figure in the local tourism industry, inside her car in a residential area of Phuket.

Police have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the shocking murder of a female tour guide whose body was discovered inside a parked car in Phuket.

Now for the update:

According to police, the suspect, identified as Jirasak, was escorted by officers from Phuket City Police Station to three key locations linked to the crime: the murder scene, a gold shop, and the site where the victim’s body was abandoned. The suspect confessed to killing her in order to steal a one-baht gold necklace, which he later sold to repay personal debts.

The reenactment began at the location where the fatal attack allegedly occurred, followed by a visit to the gold shop where the stolen item was sold. The final stop was the remote area where the suspect reportedly disposed of the body.

Authorities say the confession and reenactment will support the prosecution’s case as they prepare formal charges.
