Phuket-
Four foreign tourists were safely rescued late Wednesday night after their speedboat ran aground on rocks near Maiton Island, prompting a coordinated maritime response amid challenging sea conditions on Thursday (November 6th).

Vice Admiral Veerudom Muangjeen, Director of the Third Naval Area’s Maritime Security Command Center told the Phuket Express. He ordered patrol vessel to deploy urgently to assist the stranded tourists, who had managed to reach the island and were awaiting help in stable condition.
The initial rescue attempt began at 19:50 PM.., but strong waves and winds forced the crew to retreat and revise their strategy. Reinforcements were dispatched from the Phuket Marine Security Unit including a soft-hull inflatable boat and specialized gear from vessel to ensure maximum safety during the operation.

At 22:50 P.M., the rescue team reached the site and successfully evacuated all four tourists from the island. By 00:10 A.M on Friday (November 7th), they had arrived safely back at port.
The mission was complicated by rough seas and darkness. Vice Admiral Veerudom closely monitored the situation throughout, ensuring swift coordination and operational oversight until the mission was complete.
