A 32-year-old Russian tourist tragically drowned off Nai Thon Beach in Phuket’s Thalang District on Monday evening, prompting a swift multi-agency search and renewed warnings about swimming during hazardous sea conditions.

A 31-year-old Russian man has gone missing after being swept out to sea by powerful waves at Nai Thon Beach in Phuket. The victim, identified as Mr. Dmitrii Zakutskii, was reportedly swimming with a group of friends when he was pulled under by surging surf conditions.

Now for the update:

Rescue teams recovered Mr. Zakutskii’s body at approximately 6:00 p.m. Authorities have since followed legal procedures and coordinated with relevant agencies to handle the case.

In an official statement, Thalang District expressed heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and urged all beachgoers to heed lifeguard warnings and avoid swimming during periods of high surf and strong currents.

Local officials continue to emphasize the importance of beach safety, particularly as seasonal weather patterns bring unpredictable sea conditions to Phuket’s coastline.
