Russian Tourist Swept Away by Strong Waves at Nai Thon Beach

Phuket –

A 31-year-old Russian man has gone missing after being swept out to sea by powerful waves at Nai Thon Beach in Phuket. The victim, identified as Mr. Dmitrii Zakutskii, was reportedly swimming with a group of friends when he was pulled under by surging surf conditions.

The incident occurred in full view of his companions, who immediately alerted local authorities. Rescue teams from multiple agencies have since launched a full-scale search operation, deploying personnel both on the water and in the air.

As of 7:30 PM local time, Mr. Zakutskii has not yet been located. Officials say the search will continue into the night, weather and sea conditions permitting.

Nai Thon Beach, known for its scenic beauty and strong seasonal currents, has seen increased safety warnings in recent weeks due to rough seas. Authorities are urging beachgoers to exercise extreme caution and heed posted advisories.
