Tuk-Tuk Driver Altercation in Patong Leaves One Person Dead

Phuket—

A violent altercation between two tuk-tuk drivers erupted on a busy street in Patong on Sunday evening, resulting in one fatality and another person injured.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the incident occurred in a central area of Patong, a popular tourist district in Phuket on Sunday (November 2nd). The confrontation escalated quickly, culminating in a knife attack in full view of passersby.

The deceased was identified as a 30-year-old man from Thung Song district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. He sustained critical stab wounds and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The alleged assailant, a man from Roi Et province, also suffered injuries during the struggle and is currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the knife used in the attack originally belonged to the victim. Authorities believe the suspect may have seized the weapon during the scuffle before turning it on the other man.

Officers from Patong Police Station responded swiftly to the scene, securing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Legal proceedings are now underway as investigators work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
