A male tourist from Australia was apprehended for shoplifting at Central Phuket shopping mall, marking his third known offense at the same location.

The arrest was made through ิั Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Officers (Moo 5) and officers from the Special Operations Division of Provincial Police Region 8. The team included Police Sub-Lieutenant Niratsai Jongcharoenkitwattana, Police Sub-Lieutenant Chatchai NiamSuwan, and Police Sub-Lieutenant Supatchakorn Sonprasom.
Authorities responded immediately to the incident, catching the suspect in the act.

Seized items included a mobile phone and football apparel. Upon questioning, the suspect confessed to having committed similar thefts at the same mall on two previous occasions. His return to the scene of the crime proved ill-advised, as the shop owner recognized him and provided CCTV footage as evidence.

The operation was praised by local officials and community members for its efficiency and commitment to public safety. Officers involved were commended for their vigilance and swift action in protecting both residents and tourists.
