Ukrainian Man Arrested in Thalang After Drug-Fueled Outburst

Phuket-

A 38-year-old Ukrainian national was arrested late Thursday night in Phuket’s Thalang after allegedly causing a public disturbance while under the influence of narcotics.

Police from Sakoo Station told the Phuket Express that they responded to reports of a man behaving erratically near a shooting range in the Sakoo subdistrict around 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect—later identified as Mr. Andriy—who appeared intoxicated, was incoherent, and was not wearing pants. His behavior raised suspicions of drug use.

Police detained the man and conducted a search. Officers reportedly discovered 1.80 grams of cocaine in his possession.

Mr. Andriy was taken into custody and transferred to Sakoo Police Station for further legal proceedings. He faces charges of illegal possession of Category 1 narcotics (crystal methamphetamine) and Category 2 narcotics (cocaine), in violation of Thailand’s drug laws.

Authorities have not disclosed whether the suspect will face additional charges related to public indecency or disorderly conduct.
