Fireboat Dispatched to Speedboat Blaze Off Island in Rawai

Phuket –

A fire broke out aboard a private speedboat near Koh Lone, bringing an emergency response from local authorities.

This week, the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization’s Tourist Assistance Center received an alert about a small speedboat engulfed in flames off the coast of Koh Lone. The vessel was reportedly undergoing a test run when a malfunction occurred in the battery compartment.

The “Andaman Pearl 2” fireboat and a patrol vessel were deployed accompanied by trained personnel to contain the blaze. By the time responders arrived at the scene, the boat’s captain had successfully extinguished the fire. Officials confirmed that the vessel belonged to a foreign national and was being operated privately at the time of the incident.

Rescue teams provided assistance by towing the damaged boat safely to Chalong Pier. No injuries were reported.
