Phuket—
A foreign tourist tragically lost his life after drowning at Naiyang Beach in Phuket.
Local police from Sakoo Police Station were alerted this week by a concerned citizen who spotted an unconscious man lying on the sand near the beach, directly across from the national park office. Officers, including the station’s superintendent, rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a white male tourist wearing swim trunks, unresponsive on the shore. Officers immediately began CPR in an attempt to revive him. Despite their efforts, the man could not be saved.
Initial witness accounts suggest the victim may have been underwater for a prolonged period before bystanders managed to pull him ashore and notify authorities.
The body has since been transferred to a hospital for further examination. Authorities are working to identify the deceased and notify his family.
