Phuket police have arrested four British nationals in connection with a violent daylight robbery targeting a 40-year-old American tourist in Cherng Talay.

Four British nationals have been charged for allegedly orchestrating a violent robbery targeting a 40-year-old American lawyer, who was attacked while riding his motorcycle in Cherng Talay earlier this week.

On Wednesday (September 24th), Mr. A.B., a 40-year-old attorney from the United States, visited Cherng Talay Police Station in Thalang District to personally thank officers for their swift action. He presented a bouquet of flowers to Pol. Col. Ekkarat Plaiduang, the station chief, and the investigative team, praising their dedication and professionalism.

The robbery occurred on the afternoon of September 18th, when Mr. A.B. was riding his motorcycle near Soi 7 on Layan Road in Cherng Talay. He was allegedly targeted by a group of four British nationals who used a sedan to ram his vehicle before stealing his luxury wristwatch, valued at approximately 2.3 million baht (USD 63,000), and fleeing the scene.

Within just 12 hours, police mobilized a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of all four suspects. Authorities also seized three vehicles, two firearms, and recovered the stolen watch.

Pol. Col. Ekkarat credited the success to the tireless efforts of his team and the cooperation of local residents who provided crucial information. “This outcome reflects our commitment to public safety and the peace of our community,” he said.

Mr. A.B. shared his appreciation, saying he felt reassured and impressed by the swift and decisive action of Thai law enforcement. He also urged tourists worldwide to see Phuket as a safe destination, adding that local authorities are fully committed to protecting both residents and visitors.
