Russian Man Detained for Public Indecency on Pickup Truck in Phuket, Faces Deportation

Phuket –

A 23-year-old Russian national has been detained by Thai authorities following the circulation of explicit footage on social media on Wednesday (September 24th) allegedly showing him engaging in sexual activity in the back of a black pickup truck at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The video, which cannot be publicly released due to its graphic nature, reportedly shows the individuals engaging in inappropriate behavior in night time in the bed of the truck, with passing vehicles and pedestrians clearly visible. The footage quickly circulated among local online communities, bringing fast action from law enforcement.

Phuket City Police launched an urgent investigation to identify and apprehend those involved. Authorities explained that such behavior not only violates Thai laws regarding public indecency but also disrespects local cultural norms.

“This kind of conduct is unacceptable and illegal,” said a spokesperson for the Phuket police. “We are working to track down the individuals and ensure they face appropriate legal consequences.”

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express on Thursday (September 25th) that the suspect, identified as Mr. Georgii, was tracked by Phuket City Police after investigators linked him to the viral video. Under the direction of Pol. Col. Chatree Chukaew, Superintendent of Phuket City Police Station, officers coordinated with multiple agencies to monitor his movements.

Mr. Georgii had reportedly departed Phuket and was scheduled to arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport, where immigration officers led by Pol. Col. Chaya Panakit intercepted him. He was questioned and subsequently transferred to Phuket for further legal proceedings.

Authorities have initiated steps to revoke his visa and blacklist him from re-entering Thailand. The Phuket City Police have formally recommended that Immigration consider both visa cancellation and entry prohibition, citing public indecency and damage to Thailand’s international image.

The woman in the footage has not yet been publicly identified as of press time.
