Phuket –
A 44-year-old British national was arrested in Patong today after allegedly dancing nude in the middle of Bangla Road’s bustling nightlife district and being found in possession of a hallucinogenic substance.
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the arrest was carried out at 5:00 P.M. on Friday (September 26th) by a coordinated team from Patong Police Station.
The suspect was apprehended following an incident that occurred around 12:12 AM earlier the same day, when he was seen stripping and dancing in the Walking Street area of Bangla Road in Patong. Footage of the event quickly circulated on social media, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Upon locating the man, officers conducted a search and discovered 0.89 grams of “magic mushrooms,” a Category 5 narcotic prohibited under Thai law. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance for personal use, overstaying his visa by 162 days, and public indecency.
Authorities confirmed that the man had remained in Thailand beyond the permitted period and was residing illegally at the time of arrest. He is now in custody and will face legal proceedings for multiple offenses.
This is the third incident in as many days involving naked foreign nationals in Phuket causing trouble, noted police, with some voices on social media calling for stricter visa guidelines.
