Phuket –
The island of Phuket is making waves with the launch of the “Phuket Lobster Street – Phuket Lobster Festival 2025,” a three-day celebration spotlighting the famed Seven-Colored Lobster, a newly certified Geographical Indication (GI) product and a proud symbol of the region’s coastal heritage.

Held from September 5–7 at the Queen Sirikit 72nd Anniversary Park (Dragon Plaza) in Talat Yai, Phuket Town, the festival was officially opened by Phuket Deputy Governor Suwit Phansengiam. The ceremony featured remarks from local government officials, and community leaders, alongside enthusiastic locals and tourists.
Organized by the Phuket Provincial Office together with the Phuket Fisheries Department and local communities, the event aims to elevate the “Seven-Colored Lobster Route” as a signature attraction blending culinary tourism and marine culture.

The Seven-Colored Lobster—known for its vivid hues, succulent texture, and rich flavor—has recently earned GI status, reinforcing its identity as a unique marine treasure of Phuket. The designation not only honors the craftsmanship of local fisheries but also boosts economic value for coastal communities.
Festival-goers are treated to a lively street food experience featuring diverse lobster dishes, cultural performances that reflect Phuket’s identity, and a bustling community market showcasing GI products. Interactive workshops and exhibitions offer insights into sustainable lobster fishing and eco-tourism along the Andaman coast.

More than a food fair, the Phuket Lobster Festival positions the island as the “Lobster Capital of Thailand,” inviting both domestic and international visitors to savor world-class seafood while immersing themselves in the rhythms of coastal life.
