Phuket –
A massive red buoy, weighing an estimated 1,000 kilograms, was discovered washed ashore on Nai Harn Beach early this week, prompting local authorities to launch an investigation into its origin.

The unusual find was reported by beachgoers and lifeguards, leading Mr. Thames Kraitas, Mayor of Rawai Municipality, to personally inspect the scene alongside municipal engineers, safety officers, and lifeguard staff.
He told the Phuket Express that the buoy, clearly not of Thai origin, appeared to have drifted in from deep sea waters, though its exact provenance remains unknown.
Initial efforts to remove the buoy using a pickup truck proved unsuccessful due to its immense weight. Authorities then deployed a backhoe to drag the object further inland, securing it with ropes to prevent it from being pulled back into the ocean by strong waves.

Local officials have since contacted relevant agencies to assist in identifying the buoy and determining whether it poses any environmental or navigational risks. Until further notice, the buoy remains secured near the shoreline as investigations continue.
This unexpected arrival has stirred curiosity among residents and tourists alike, with many speculating about its journey across the sea.
