Three Indian Nationals Arrested for Illegally Working on Luxury Yacht in Phuket

Phuket

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), through the Marine Police Division, launched a targeted operation at Chalong Pier in Phuket, resulting in the arrest of three Indian nationals for illegally working aboard a luxury yacht.

The CIB told the Phuket Express that officers inspected a sea-going vessel docked at Chalong Pier and discovered four Indian men preparing food in an unauthorized kitchen setup.

Upon inspection, three individuals—Mr. Kumar Abhishek (29), Mr. Honey (34), and Mr. Armanjot (20)—were found to be working without valid work permits. They admitted to being hired by a fellow Indian national, identified only as Mr. Rikhi, to cook Indian cuisine onboard for a daily wage of 700 baht each. The fourth unidentified man was found to have a proper work permit and was released.

The suspects were charged under Section 8 of the Royal Decree on the Management of Foreign Workers (Amended Version 2, B.E. 2561), which prohibits foreign nationals from working without proper authorization. All three confessed to the charges and were handed over to Chalong Police Station for legal proceedings.
