Authorities in Phuket are investigating the death of a 28-year-old American national whose body was discovered washed ashore on Patong Beach.
The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that at approximately 1:30 PM on Friday (August 22nd), they received a report from the station’s dispatch center about a body found near a bridge on Thaweewong Road. Policr and rescue personnel from the Kusoldharm Foundation rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found the lifeless body of a foreign male lying on the shoreline. A friend of the deceased later identified him as Mr. Shogo Sean Saisu, a U.S. citizen of Chinese descent. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
The body was transferred to Patong Hospital, where forensic specialists will conduct a full autopsy to determine the cause of death. Police have stated that there were no immediate signs of foul play, but investigations are ongoing.
Authorities are coordinating with the U.S. Embassy to notify the victim’s family and assist with repatriation procedures.
