Thalang –
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Sunday afternoon (August 17th) at 4:10 P.M. after an ultralight aircraft crashed onto a main road near the Phuket Airpark in Khlok. The incident occurred close to a forested stretch, prompting swift response from local rescue teams.

One person was critically injured and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. He was later identified as a 40 year-old Thai male flight instructor and a manager of the Phuket Airpark. Meanwhile a 36 year-old male Russian student sustained various injuries. Rescue personnel and fire fighters provided immediate medical assistance and transported the injured individual to a nearby hospital.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the glider lose altitude rapidly before crashing onto the road with a loud explosion sound and then catching fire. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, though initial reports suggest strong winds and unstable weather may have contributed to the loss of control.
Authorities are working to secure the crash site and gather evidence. Aviation safety officials are expected to conduct a full inspection of the wreckage and interview witnesses to determine the exact cause.
