Phuket-
Authorities in Phuket have launched a sweeping anti-drug operation under the national campaign “No Drugs, No Dealers,” resulting in the arrest of two suspected drug traffickers and the seizure of over 10,000 methamphetamine pills.

The operation was a follow-up to recent arrests of small-scale drug dealers in Thalang District. Authorities expanded their investigation under the government’s “One Addict Leads to One Dealer” policy, which aims to trace drug supply chains from users to major distributors.

Officers told the Phuket Express that the operation took place earlier this week. Two Thai nationals were apprehended:
• Mr. Jay (alias), age 32
• Mr. Kla (alias), age 33
Seized items included:
• 5 bundles of methamphetamine pills (approximately 10,000 tablets)
• 2 mobile phones
• 1 motorcycle
Both suspects face multiple charges, including:
• Possession of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
• Attempted distribution of illegal drugs
• Personal use of a Category 1 narcotic
The suspects and evidence were handed over to investigators at Kathu Police Station for legal proceedings.
The operation concluded in the early hours of August 7tg. It marks a significant milestone in Phuket’s commitment to the “No Drugs No Dealer” initiative, which sets a bold target: Within three months, communities identified with drug problems must begin internal reform and declare themselves drug-free zones—free of both users and dealers.
