Trio Nabbed in Thalang Drug Bust; Thousands of Meth Pills Seized

PHUKET —

Police in Thalang have arrested three suspects linked to a drug trafficking operation involving thousands of methamphetamine tablets and hundreds of grams of crystal meth, authorities confirmed on August 4th.

The Thalang Police told the Phuket Express that the suspects—identified only as Mr. Bank (27), Ms. Pop (24), and Ms. Jee (29)—were apprehended by officers from the Thalang Police Station following coordinated surveillance and intelligence reports. The arrests took place at a residence in Thepkrasattri and a hotel in nearby Ratsada.

Investigators seized over 6,000 meth pills and approximately 337 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with mobile phones, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia. Police say the trio was operating a well-organized supply chain that targeted youth across local neighborhoods.

According to authorities, Ms. Jee orchestrated drug purchases from unidentified suppliers, and would then task Mr. Bank and Ms. Pop—described as a couple living together—to store and deliver the drugs. Payments for deliveries reportedly ranged from ฿2,000 to ฿2,500 per trip.

The arrests unfolded after officers observed Mr. Bank and Ms. Pop attempting to dispose of drug packages through a window during a house search. The packages were later recovered in nearby foliage.

Under interrogation, Ms. Jee allegedly admitted to ordering three bundles of meth—totaling 6,000 pills—for ฿27,000 per bundle, and 300 grams of crystal meth for ฿120,000, with delivery handled by Mr. Bank.

All three suspects face serious charges, including:

  • Possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to distribute
  • Contributing to the spread of illicit drugs
  • Endangering public safety

Additionally, Ms. Jee faces a separate charge for personal use of methamphetamine, police said. The suspects have been transferred to Thalang Police Station for formal processing and will remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
